You should regularly carry out checks on your car tyre pressures, you can find the recommended car tyre pressure in your vehicle handbook.
If you are carrying extra weight in your vehicle it generally requires a higher car tyre pressure setting, so look out for the ‘loaded’ pressure settings if you are using your vehicle to carry extra weight.
There are 3 important reasons as to why keeping your tyre pressure correct and they are: Being over inflated can cause poor vehicle handling and under inflated can cause them to over heat and can make the tyres wear too quickly.
Next is that it can end up costing you money! Your thinking oh yeah new tyres, but why? Because when the tyres aren’t the correct tyre pressure they take the bumps from kurbs, pot holes etc and they are worse than they could be than when they are the correct pressure.
Lastly mileage, if you keep them correct then you will clock up more miles than when they are incorrect.
Most tyre pumps you can find at petrol garages, you just use the air hose and fill up – but check your correct pressure for your car first in the handbook and then set it to the correct ammount of air on the controls, if you need any help still then just ask an assistant at the garage
