Tyre regulations changed

Drivers reading this are being notified that its possible not to pass your NCT as the tyres on some cars will not meet certain criteria which has been updated this month.

People have phone places such as the AA for information about this as it has left many stunned and confused, the Tyre Industry have confirmed that not all tyres will be up to a good enough standard to pass.

Every country in Europe has already been using the test, but Ireland are the last to use it. When the new system came in there are as many as 20 people each day who are not passing the test

Dumped tyres causing problems still.

There has been more dumping of tyres in Scotland, and the environment agency is becoming frustrated as it attracts all sorts of rodents. They are also a big fire risk as many are set alight and fire fighters spend their time putting them out, which causes harm as when tyres are burnt they produce a toxin that can pollute local water.

Disposing of these useless tyres costs money and takes up valuable time that could be spent doing other necessary jobs. Its an illegal thing to do and if it doesn’t stop then it could be polluting areas around us.
