Beat the VAT increase!

1. Have your car serviced before the New Year.

Its ideal to have your car serviced now than after Christmas as due to the VAT increase it will be cheaper now and to be on the safe side as the weather hasn’t been that great the roads aren’t great either so its best to have it all checked as that weather could be back to pay us another visit.

2. Buy your tyres as soon as possible.

If you buy your tyres now, even if they still have a good couple months left in them. As when that VAT increases to 20% your going to notice it more.
You can pop down to Jet and we will sell you the correct tyres and fit them for you.

3. Find the least expensive fuel around you.

Its already gone up 12% this year already and that fact its going to go up even more is going to be a struggle for some people.
So shop around now to see who normally has the cheapest fuel so that when the time comes and it goes up and won’t be as expensive as the others hopefully.

These are 3 of the top tips to help you out with your car over the festive season, as no one really has cash to splash straight after Christmas and we know that, so get this all done before and save the hassle of leaving it to the last minute and paying out more money.

Get your tyres before VAT increase!

As everyone knows by now we are having another VAT increase from January 1st!

Which is shocking we know but obviously we have to comply with that too.

Christmas is almost here now only 2 weeks today and it has come around quicker than ever it seems.

So if you need your tyres checked before Christmas Day as there could be some heavy weather then pop on down and see us!

Insured or Not Insured?

It has been said this week that having winter tyres on your vehicle could make your Insurance invalid?

Well that is incorrect as they should be encouraging people to have winter tyres on their cars as a safety precaution.

If you are unsure still about whether to get them put on incase your not covered just give your insurance company a quick call to find out.

All insurance companies vary and its better to check it out.

But it been brought to our attention this week that Winter Tyres are better than Salt?

As salt just causes build up in the drains, and affects other related things.

Watch out for the pot holes.

So as the weather has been a chilling low, the roads have taken a beating!

Like usual the weather leaves cracks and potholes in the roads after the weather being so cold and this year is set to be the worse!

Last year, to replace the road surfaces cost £320 million pound due to the bad weather.

And this year after 2 weeks the road surfaces have already started to show the cracks ect.

Which means watch out on your tyres as the bad roads can damage your tyres and can cost you.

So be wary when driving on the roads, obviously if you still have ice its hard to tell what’s there.

Continental release iPhone App.

Tyre manufacturer Continental have now got their own application on the iPhone.

Its called ‘ContitireRace’, and basically you race around the track on ContitireContact TS 830 in the fastest time.

The App is on iTunes and is free, it is available in 2 different languages – English & German.

So if you have an Iphone why not download it, you could be addicted to playing it after a couple of hours!

“With the ContiTireRace, we want to gather experience in the area of eGames and positionContinental as brand in the app store,” says Carola Natzel, Continental’s manager of business development, E-Business.

“Of course we would like to get young technology fans in particular interested in our company and its products.”

If you do decide to download it then do it before the 20th December as you get entered in to a raffle hosted by Continental to have a chance of winning a PS3.

Winter weather tyres low.

As this cold weather is upon us, and the snow is still falling down throughout the country people still want to be able to get around in their cars.

There is a specific tyre that helps in these sort of conditions, it isn’t a miracle and it doesn’t make the snow go away it just grips better.

Obviously if the weather carries on like this and people keep getting these tyres put on their cars, there is more tyres getting put on than there is in stock, so it is a possibility that they can run out and nobody can have any more until January.

Head of Malvern Tyres, Dan Davis has said that his company already had trouble sourcing winter tyres, saying: ”None of the major makers have anything available, and nothing more coming in till January.’

So if you were after any of these tyres then you could be out of luck.
