Three police officers in Botswana Police’s Transport and Telecommunications division in Gaborone were supposedly arrested after allegations came about that they had stolen 31 tyres, but only 4 have been found.
The 3 men were apparently found in ownership of the tyres while some of them were also found by someone who is said to be an ex mechanic with the police transport division.
It is also suspected that this ex mechanic has been under suspicion by the police that he is involved in underhand dealings with police officers.
Investigations have also supposedly exposed information to the result that the situation is deep, and that a lot more police officers are caught up in the scam, stealing not only tyres but also car parts at the police’s transport division.
